Admission to the master's degree programme in Computer Engineering is open to holders of an Italian Laurea degree, or a suitable degree obtained abroad (Bachelor of Science or equivalent first-cycle degree).

Applications are evaluated by an Evaluation Committee (EC) appointed by the Degree Programme Board. The EC will verify:

Admission requirements

Admission is open to graduates that either hold:

Knowledge of the English language, comparable to the level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, is also required. The possession of the language knowledge requirement can be certified by the applicant at the time of enrolment. Otherwise, it will be verified by the EC through the interview.


Fees and Financial Support

University fees are due on a yearly basis. Fees are determined by the Board of Directors and usually announced in the month of June for the following academic year. As reference information, the fees for the a.y. 2022/23 varied from € 356 to € 2,400, depending on the student’s country of origin.

EU citizens or non-EU citizens with a Permit of Stay in Italy

EU citizens, citizens from the European Economic Area or the Swiss Federation, and non-EU citizens with a Permit of Stay in Italy must follow the standard procedure to enroll at the University of Pisa. Detailed enrolment instructions are available here.

Admission deadline for a.y. 2023/24 is December 29, 2023

If interested, you may request the Degree Programme Board to do a preliminary (informal) assessment of your qualification by sending an email at info_INGINF@dii.unipi.it, thereby including the following documents:

Non-EU citizens with residency abroad       

Non-EU citizens living outside of Italy must pre-enroll at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the Country of origin in order to apply for a visa for long-term stays in Italy. Details are available at dedicated pages of the University website. 

Pre-enrollement requires that the candidate first partecipates to a competition. The call for application is usually opened in the month of February preceding the start of the academic year. The call for the current academic year can be found below.
