MASTER’S DEGREE IN
COMPUTER ENGINEERING

Admission to the Master's degree course

Admission to the Master’s degree course in Computer Engineering is reserved for those who hold an Italian degree or an equivalent foreign qualification (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).

Applications are examined by an Evaluation Committee (EC), appointed by the Course Council.

CHECK

ITALY

The Committee verifies:

  1. Curricular requirements:
The candidate must meet the specific requirements indicated for entry.
  2. Personal preparation:
The candidate must demonstrate adequate preparation for the Master’s degree, with a focus on basic knowledge in mathematics and computer engineering, as well as skills in related subjects (e.g. electronics, telecommunications, automation or management). This assessment will take place through an analysis of the candidate’s CV and academic career and, if necessary, through an interview.
  3. Knowledge of the English language:
A knowledge of English equal to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required. This requirement is compulsory but can be considered fulfilled if, at the time of enrolment, the candidate presents a suitable language certificate.

Candidates with a foreign qualification

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or equivalent first-cycle degree, obtained at the end of a course of study of at least three years. The degree must include courses relevant to computer hardware and software, similar to those of a graduate in Computer Engineering or Information Science.

Examinations are required in:

  • Algorithms and Programming
  • Computer Architecture
  • Operating Systems
  • Computer Networks
  • Database Systems

The absence of even one of these examinations results in exclusion from the selection.

In addition, a sound background in mathematics is essential. Skills in related engineering disciplines, such as:

  • Electronics
  • Telecommunications
  • Automation
  • Management

Purely technical or professional qualifications, such as degrees in computer applications or equivalent, will not be accepted.

Please note that:

  • Students who plan to complete a Bachelor’s degree by the pre-enrolment deadline set by the Italian embassy or consulate in their country may apply. Admission will only be confirmed upon graduation within the specified deadline.
  • The Assessment Board will decide on the suitability of the candidate’s qualification solely in relation to the two Master’s degree courses covered by this call for applications. For qualifications obtained in non-EU countries, a subsequent verification and official recognition by the Italian Diplomatic Representations is envisaged.
  • An English level of at least B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required.

Applications are now open!
